Hey y'all, Emma here! I'm the owner of Base-ics Boutique. Those of you who know me personally, know that my husband is a marine. We are currently stationed in Pensacola, FL where he is in flight school. Back when we were dating, I struggled with the idea of how I could have a career in fashion while moving across the country every few years to a new station. I studied Apparel Merchandising at Auburn University, and I'd always had the dream of owning my own boutique...but dating a military man made the idea of that seem pretty impossible. I knew I was gonna have to think creatively how I could make this work.
Base-ics Boutique came to mind in early 2020. An online and mobile boutique that would revolve around where we are stationed/based, and can move with me when it's time to pack up and move to the next place.
I also thought about how negative the word "basic" can be used toward women. "Oh she is basic", "Her outfit is so basic", but without a strong BASE, you've got nothing! So thats who we are. A boutique for the women who aren't afraid to be "Base-ic". A boutique for the women on the move, packing up their lives every few years and starting over. Base-ics is your home base, and supporting community. Welcome to the family, I can't wait to get to know you!
